Company Culture

Posted on Updated on

Road Trips 3Building and maintaining a strong, positive company culture is important for a number of reasons. Employee retention, performance, and happiness are all dependent on a positive and upbeat work environment. If the corporate culture is up to par, all else will follow suit.

Employee retention is dependent on a happy working atmosphere. If you do not provide a satisfactory environment for your team, they will seek employment elsewhere and turnover will be a constant issue.

Employee performance is also greatly influenced by the company culture. If the atmosphere is positive and upbeat, your team will be encouraged to perform at their best. In contrast, if the energy is negative, draining or confused, your team will absorb the energy and underperform. Encourage your team to live up to their potential by providing them with an exciting and encouraging culture to be a part of!

Lastly, the corporate culture will affect the overall mood of your team. This is huge. A culture that influences teamwork, healthy bonding, and positivity will be contagious! Likewise, a culture that takes part in gossip, negativity, and cliques will also put out a vibe that will affect your team. Which atmosphere would you want to be a part of?

Many companies today place a strong emphasis on creating a well-founded company culture which promotes teamwork and unity. No matter how great your workplace may be, corporate culture always has room for improvement.

Here are some things to keep in mind when looking to improve your company culture.

  1. Emphasize the importance of employee relationships. One of the most important components of building a positive company culture comes with cultivating strong relationships between coworkers. This includes the relationship between management and their team as well as the relationship between coworkers. Positive, friendly relationships encourage engagement, teamwork and cohesive unity throughout the office.

There are many ways to cultivate positive relationships between colleagues. Daily or weekly team building events that are organized by management are perfect opportunities to encourage face-to-face communication and trust while building skills. Another really great way to encourage team building is to organize regular out of office “team nights”. You can pick a different venue each time and you and your team can relax, have fun and get to know each other outside of the office. Team nights break down barriers and allow your team to get to know each other without the stress of work. When you really know your coworkers, you will know how to best help them and work more fluidly with them in a work setting.

  1. Inspire your team. There is nothing worse than working in an environment that is dull and drains you of all of your energy. You don’t want your team to dread coming to work each day and count the minutes until they can break free from the shackles of doom and gloom that is your workplace. You want your team to be inspired and pumped up when they step into the office! You want them to be ready to kick some ass and be as hungry for success as you are! If you want your team to perform well, you need to keep their attention.

  1. Give credit when credit is due. Make sure you give your team feedback on a consistent basis. No one is saying that you need to hold your employees’ hands and pat them on the back every time they do anything. However, when someone does something noteworthy, acknowledge it. If your team is going above and beyond, give them credit.

  1. Ask your team for feedback, as well. Your team wants to feel like they have a voice. Sometimes, your employees may be very frustrated with certain aspects of the business and you may have no idea if you give them no opportunity to voice their concerns. Being open to constructive criticism is very important in creating a positive corporate culture.

  1. Trust your team. Showing your team that you trust them is absolutely crucial in building a mutually respectful collaborative working environment. People hate to be micromanaged and not only is it destructive to the employee-manager relationship, it does absolutely nothing for productivity. Trust that your team can and will deliver. Give them some room to perform and test their abilities on their own. The worst thing you can do is stunt someone’s growth by constantly hovering over them and making them question their own abilities. Allowing your team to practice autonomy fosters a trusting relationship and allows for your employees to flourish.

Creating an exceptional corporate culture is one of the most beneficial measures you can take to ensure that you, your employees and your company will be successful. This is an area that should never be overlooked because you will get back so much more than what you put in.Selfie

What Makes A Great Leader?

Posted on

in-the-office

Signature Business Solutions biggest mission for our team is to help them grown professionally and personally. With our company expanding, we’re wanting our team to do the same. We’re looking for candidates to come and stay with the company, help our clients and move/transition into great leaders. As an office, we can all agree being a leader has different definitions, but we came up with simple points to understand what makes a great leader.

1) Someone Who Creates Vision

The biggest thing about creating a vision is understand where the team wants/needs to be.

-Having a destination: where are we going? what are we accomplishing?

2) Someone Who Motivates and Inspires Others

-Creating purpose: why does the team exist?

-Values: Understanding whys. (why does someone do something) at this point, we should be able to see, feel, smell, taste the vision.

3) Someone Who Follows Through (Delivery)

Day-to-Day management of operations

-Sets the pace / leads by example

4) Someone Who Coaches

Creating an environment and team to be self efficient

– Someone ensures and pushes others to be the best in their abilities and bring out leadership traits in people

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

We support the fighters, admire the survivors, honor the taken and never give up hope. Signature Business Solutions have been wearing pink for the whole month. We want to help awareness and help donate to this breast cancer. Maybe we haven’t had someone close get diagnosed, but it is still important to find a cure.
